Biography – Carys Wynter was born in a land of what is now the part of Great Britain we call Wales. Before she was born, there had been a great disaster. Carys' grandmother, Rhea, had died saving her daughter, Caryn who later became Carys’ mother. Carys emulated the heroism of her grandmother and the inquisitiveness of her mother. She learned quickly and became a favorite of Honorable Grandfather. She memorized the story that Grandfather told the children at storytalk. Because no one but Grandfather was permitted to speak the story, Carys would tell it to the night sky.
